OMG i love this little girl SO MUCH!!! Wise beyond her years (quoting “Sam I am” verbatim amongst numerous Dr. Seussians) and so delightful I could squeeze her through next year. And HILARIOUS. I love her and have decided I want to be her when I grow up.
This was one of the most fun shoots ever. First off it was a gift to the dog’s owner (which always rocks.) Secondly, it was of a DOG!!!!! A DOG!!!!!! And SUCH an amazing one. PURE. LOVE. EVERYWHERE. This pup LOVED being in the car so we made sure to make this the most fun for her… And just loooooook at that face!!!
“Meredith, THESE ARE AMAAAAZZZIIINNGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How can I ever thank you enough for these beautiful shots of Izzy? Every picture you took captures a different shade of her colorful personality and shows off her sassy spirit. The photos are so alive that when I look at them I expect her to jump off the page for a biscuit and belly rub! And, thank you for the pictures of Izzy and me together; I am very grateful to have such lovely shots of me and my girl! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! xoxo, Laura”
I’ve been photographing this gorgeous little boy since he was a baby. Every year he becomes even more beautiful and fascinating and adorable and breathtakingly amazing. It’s a fantastic thing to get to witness and celebrate.
Below, a thank you from his family, reminded me of all the reasons I feel so extraordinarily fortunate to be a part of so many wonderful people’s lives. It truly is a ‘gift’ on every level.
There’s a story in The Arabian Nights where someone (Sympathy the Learned) is asked what is The Meaning of Life… and she replies “to cultivate enthusiasm.’ No truer words were said.
“Meredith. These images are truly, genuinely amazing. What an incredible eye and ease you have to be able to get into so many people’s heads, but most certainly in this case – our son’s. There are pictures here that make me laugh out loud, and that literally stop me in my tracks he’s so crushingly cute. His balance of being strong-boy and fair-haired-dearheart is completely evident throughout. I love him and I love these photographs. That day was a gift, and these photos will be there to remind us of that forever. Thank you thank you. THANK YOU!!”
I began photographing this beautiful little boy when he was still inside his momma’s belly. Every year since then (it’s been 4 and counting) I have had the distinct pleasure of watching this amazing child grow. I can not emphasize how incredibly special that honor is. I could not love him more.
Fortunately I’ve been incredibly busy with shoots but I have PROMISED myself to start posting more on my blog!
So here are some shots taken post baseball game- the family wanted to document the day .. Go Team!
I love me some fashion shows.
Particularly when the ‘models’ are under 10 years old.
And ridiculously adorable.
Like this one.
This session is a perfect example of my work as a ‘lifestyle’ children’s photographer. Rather than unnaturally posing children in a studio completely foreign to them, I love capturing the details and beauty of their unique worlds, loves and lives they genuinely are at this precise time in their lives. This keeps everything completely natural, absolutely immediate, and uniquely personal.
By photographing children in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes and known environments, the authenticity of their personalities shine through and landmarking memories are instantly and beautifully created. And those go straight to the heart.
I cannot believe it’s taken me so long to blog (been so busy shooting, getting ready to introduce new products (!!!!), new site and more) but here is one of the most adorable happiest 1 year old boys I have E V E R met!!!!!!
When I arrived he was still sleeping (as I NEVER recommend waking a sleeping child… i can always walk around the block, hang out, work on my iPhone, etc as we all know a cranky kid never wants to do much) and I absolutely love the range from sleepy ‘dad feeding him a bottle’ to his gorgeous endless exuberance that lasted the entire rest of the session.
I cannot wait to see him when he turns 2!!!!!
Who says you can’t shoot gorgeous natural light photographs in the middle of winter? This MOST DELICIOUS little dumpling was photographed when it was less than 30 degrees F (and ridiculously windy) and you would never know it as their stunning apartment had the most fabulous afternoon light!!! Hooray all around!!!
And, um, hello cheeks!!!!! And she SHIMMIES too!!!! I nearly ate her. Oh mah gahds….. LOVED her and am already so looking forward to watching her grow… and of course continue to shimmy 🙂
